About
I have been a freelance translator since 2008, after completing my MA in Translation and Linguistics (distinction) at the University of Westminster, London. I also have a BA in French Studies (first class) from the University of Birmingham.
A background in the insurance industry working in overseas medical assistance and repatriations led me to specialise in translating documents in the field of medicine.
I have over a decade of experience translating specialised, medical content from French and Portuguese into English, my native language.
Working for over 25 different clients since 2008, I translate and revise:
- Instruction manuals for surgical equipment or medical devices
- Training materials
- Journal articles
- Patient reports
- Consent forms
- Patient information: leaflets, articles, public health campaigns
- Summary of product characteristics (SMPC)
- Clinical trial documentation
- Adverse event reports
- Promotional material for medical products or devices
- SOPs for drug/device manufacturing
I am based in the UK, where I became a qualified member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) in 2014. My membership involves a commitment to continued professional development, with over 90 hours of CPD completed in 2025.
This combination of qualifications, years of experience and a commitment to professional development means you can trust me to handle your translation, revision and subtitling projects.
